Medical Student
UCSF Department of Neurological Surgery
University of California, San Francisco
Vardhaan S. Ambati, MS, is a fourth-year medical student at the University of California, San Francisco. He earned his bachelor's degree in Computational Biology and a master's degree in Biomedical Informatics from Stanford University. Vardhaan is particularly interested in applying computational methods to translational research and outcomes studies aimed at improving care for neurosurgical patients.
At UCSF, he conducts research in the Glioma Neuroplasticity Lab, led by Dr. Shawn Hervey-Jumper, studying electrophysiologic biomarkers of language function. He is also involved in the Spine Neuroinformatics Lab, directed by Dr. Praveen Mummaneni, where he investigates how surgical techniques and practice patterns influence long-term outcomes following spine surgery.
