Medical Student
Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine
Erin Welby is a second-year medical student at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine with a strong passion for orthopaedics, specifically in the area of spine deformity surgery. Throughout her first two years of medical school, Erin has immersed herself in the field of orthopaedic surgery, spending extensive time in the operating room and clinic—often participating under the mentorship of spine surgeons. This hands-on experience has shaped her deep commitment to advancing spine care through both clinical expertise and research. Erin has presented her work at the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society 2025 conference and will be presenting further research at the Global Spine Congress in Rio de Janeiro in May 2025. She also played an instrumental role in planning the research program for the inaugural RJOS Mid-Atlantic Conference at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Passionate about furthering understanding and improving patient outcomes, Erin continues to work closely with her mentors to explore the cutting-edge of spine surgery. She is excited to bring her experiences and research insights to the Spine Summit, where she hopes to contribute to the ongoing conversations around innovation in spine care.
