Kiana Juliette Yeganeh, B.S., is a second-year medical student at PHSU School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. She holds a B.S. in Psychology and an A.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Kiana’s passion lies in neurosurgery, with particular interest in pediatric conditions like tethered cord syndrome and Chiari malformations. Her current research, "Hardware Failure Drives Long-Term Opioid Use After Adult Spinal Deformity Surgery," was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Neurosurgery at Tampa General Hospital and contributes to a growing body of knowledge aimed at reducing long-term opioid dependence following neurosurgical procedures. Kiana has also contributed to other spine studies which are slated for presentation at Spine Summit 2025.
Fluent in four languages, Kiana has lived in Paris, Montreal, and Washington, D.C. She is a member of AANS, CNS, and AMA and is driven to pursue a career in pediatric neurosurgery.
