Medical Student
Thomas Jefferson University
My name is Yazan Shamli Oghli, MSc, and I am a rising third year medical student at Thomas Jefferson University. I am a Syrian-Canadian hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Before medical school I conducted research on the mechanisms of transcranial focused ultrasound for induction of neuroplasticity in human motor cortex. This was done at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Robert Chen. At Jefferson, I am involved in neuroimaging, spinal cord stimulation, spinal cord injury, and functional neurosurgery research. In addition to clinical research writing, I am also a writer for the Humerus Daily, the campus satire newspaper, where I am the editor of the Campus Life section. An equal honor to my scientific career (if not greater).
