I received a BA focusing on fianance and medical science from the Western University, Canada.
I completed my medical studies in Europe at the Medical University of Lodz.
Then I pursued a clinical Master of Science in Neurosurgery, at the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto, Canada under the supervision of Professor Michael G. Fehlings. During the thesis, I proposed the now adopted terminology of "Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy" which has since been adopted by guidelines and stakeholders as the terminology for conditions classically referring to cervical degenerative diseases with myelopathy.
I subsqeuently pursused further clinical research as a postdoctoral fellow at Toronto Western Hospital with Professor Michael Fehlings, as a Postodoctoral Associate and Fellow in Neurosurgery at Yale University and University of Cincinnati with Professor Joseph Cheng.
I completed my neurosurgical residency in Geneva University Hospitals in Switzerland and I was the first resident to have a dedicated spine trauma year (mixed orthopedic and neurosurgery training).
During this time, I have received numerous awards and PI funding of over 100,000USD for clinical research projects. I have also started a clinical consultation dediated to Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy.
I also completed an enfolded fellowship with Dr. Mark Kotter at the University of Cambridge supported by a prestiguous scholarship provided by Geneva University Hospitals to train anywhere abroad for 1 year.
At the present time, I have ~100 peer-reviewed publications, and have presented over 100 abstracts and been invited to speak and debate at conferences including EANS, CSRS-Europe, Global Spine Congress.
My clinical interests are in cranial and spinal neurotrauma and complex cervical spine surgery.
