Eris is currently a fourth-year medical student at New York Medical College. He was born in Albania, grew up in New Jersey, and attended Rutgers University, where he graduated with honors and high distinction, earning a B.A. in Cell Biology and Neuroscience. Prior to medical school, Eris joined Dr. Ping Xie’s lab for one year to study the regulatory immune system role of the TRAF3 cytoplasmic adaptor protein on different subsets of immune cells. At New York Medical College, he was inducted as a Junior Member of the National Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and he continues to collaborate with the Department of Neurosurgery on clinical outcomes research while also investigating therapeutic targets of medulloblastoma and glioblastoma stem cells under principal investigator, Dr. Meena Jhanwar-Uniyal. Outside of school and the hospital, Eris’s hobbies include weightlifting, spending time with his family, playing basketball, and PC computer building.
