Caleigh Roach is a second-year MD/MPH student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, with a research focus at the intersection of global health, neuromodulation, and machine learning applications in neurosurgery. She is actively involved in both the Department of Neurosurgery and the Department of Public Health, where she engages in research focused on improving global neurosurgical outcomes.
As the founder and president of the organization, EMERGE (Empowering Medical Education and Research for Global Equity), Caleigh leads an initiative dedicated to medical student-driven research in global health and technology, with the ultimate goal of implementing technology-based healthcare solutions in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
She earned her undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and has a background in pre-hospital medicine, serving as an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Instructor before entering medical school. Her career aspirations lie in neurosurgery, with ambitions of advancing neurosurgical technologies and bridging the gap in global healthcare access.
