Philip K. Louie, MD is an Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon at the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle Wa, where he serves as the Medical Director for Research and Academics for the Center for Neurosciences and Spine. He received his Bachelors Degree in Business Adminstration and Medical Degree (MD) at the University of Washington. He subsequently completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Rush University Medical Center with Midwest Orthopaedics. He then completed a spine surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Dr. Louie has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications, authord/edited 3 textbooks, as well as numerous abstracts, book chapters, and regularly presents research at both national and international conferences. His research interests lie in value-based health care (health Economics), Enabling technolologies, surgeon Ergonomcis, and Educating the next generation (The 4 E's).
